Bioinorganic Chemistry: Sensors for the recognition of metal ions
DANIELA BUCCELLA
Research Description
Research in Prof. Buccella’s group explores the interface of Inorganic Chemistry and Biology, focusing on the design and application of molecular tools for the recognition of metal ions in a biological setting. Emphasis is placed on understanding basic mechanisms of cellular metal cation homeostasis and how their disruption contributes to diseases, ultimately leading to the development of new diagnostics and the identification of new therapeutic avenues.
